How do I use my Rubby Buddy?
Use of Rubby Buddy to massage your pets is easy to learn and safe to administer.
When you touch your pet, their heart rate (and more than likely yours) decreases dramatically; this indicates they are relaxing.
1. Start with a soft touch and gradually increase the pressure when using Rubby Buddy. Begin at the top of your pet's head with Rubby Buddy faced forward and stroke softly down the back, all the way to the feet. You can turn Rubby Buddy horizontally and stroke down the back with one Rubby Buddy foot.
2. As you gradually increase pressure with Rubby Buddy, you will notice your pet will
begin to appear sleepy--this signals you are using just the right amount of pressure.
4. Progress to rubbing down the back in small circular patterns. You want to move muscles in a firm way. Continue until you feel the muscles relax.
3. By using Rubby Buddy from the top of the head to the lower back, you will help circulate blood through his/her body. Improved blood flow benefits all the cells in your pet's body.
5. You can then move the Rubby Buddy in small circles around the hips and thighs of your pet, as well as along his/her rib cage.
Most pets will move into the massage and really enjoy Rubby Buddy. A 10 minute session is good for most pets.
In some cases, you may feel muscle spasms in your pet. These are known as trigger points and can be very sensitive to you pet. You can actually feel the knot and your pet will jump when you touch it. Use one of Rubby Buddy's feet to slowly press down on the trouble spot, hold for five seconds, then release. In many cases, the knot will disappear right away!
Rubby Buddy is uniquely designed for furry four footed pets. The first time you use your Rubby Buddy, you will notice that it wants to drag across your pet's coat...and that is OK! The natural oils from your pet's coat will quickly allow it glide smooth. The more you use your Rubby Buddy, the smoother and more enjoyable it becomes!
